Entry Level Utility Operator-Finishing

About the Role

The Range Operator is responsible for the overall performance of the finishing range, ensuring all quality, process, and cost standards are met. This role involves following procedures, maintaining accurate records, and working closely with the QA technician and management to uphold quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Monitor fabric processing for defects or finishing problems and alert management or QA for decision-making.
• Input style and finish information into the machine computer, verifying all settings are correct.
• Provide feedback on fabric quality and complete all required paperwork and record-keeping for the machine.
• Key data into the EVS unit and print maps (EVS & BFD) to accompany paperwork.
• Assist with EVS and broken filament detector input, including printing maps.
• Splice and set up the machine for quality and efficiency.
• Perform distortion measurements and wrap rolls according to customer specifications.
• Cut samples, complete splice check samples, and tag fabric for lab testing.
• Clean at finishing changes and maintain all records according to ISO standards.
• Perform fabric tests and communicate instructions to associates.
• Operate forklifts and low lift trucks after passing required tests and evaluations.

Requirements

• Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions.
• Basic math and computer skills, including calculator use.
• Good vision and ability to lift moderate to heavy loads.
• Comfortable working at heights, with constant standing and walking.
• Ability to work independently and perform fabric tests.
• Strong communication skills to instruct associates.
• Must pass forklift and low lift truck written tests, obstacle courses, and evaluations.
