Entry Level Transportation Engineer
About the role
The ideal candidate will join Dewberry's Transportation Group in Roanoke, VA, where they will work on a variety of transportation engineering projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects and collaborate with a team of professionals.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team in all facets of transportation engineering including design of horizontal and vertical alignments, drainage systems, erosion and sediment control, development of maintenance and protection of traffic schemes, and preparation of construction and right-of-way acquisition plans.
- Apply the latest technology to help clients solve their most challenging problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (with emphasis in Transportation)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency using MicroStation
- Experience working on MDOT SHA, MdTA, and/or VDOT plans in design-bid-build or design-build delivery
- Working knowledge of MDOT SHA, MdTA, and/or VDOT standards
- Desire to work in a team environment
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) is preferred
Qualifications

- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) is preferred
Benefits
At Dewberry, we offer a competitive salary range of $77,000 - $79,500 annually, depending upon other factors such as skills, experience, location, and market conditions. We also provide opportunities for professional development and team building activities through our Entry-level Program.
