About the role

AECOM is seeking an Entry Level Transportation Drainage Engineer for employment in Murray, UT. This position will be responsible for assisting Project Engineers with planning, designing, and documenting civil engineering projects, such as highways, bridges, surface drainage, and utilities infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer, Project Manager, or senior-level team member, the successful candidate will:

  • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks
  • Develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities through assigned tasks
  • Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
  • Prepare engineering related calculations, design drawings, and visual aids
  • Assist with field investigations
  • Collect and enter data, and apply technical principles and theories
  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance, and draft reports based on observed conclusions and professional judgment
  • Build analytic and design skills
  • Conduct engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer
  • Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer
  • Collect and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineer
  • Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices
  • As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software experience (i.e. Bentley ORD, HEC-RAS, SHR-2D)
  • Holds an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain certification within a year
  • Capable of working within a design team
  • Excellent communication skills

Pay

The range for this position is $60,132.23 to $82,681.81 yearly, based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
