Key Responsibilities
- Aid in performing preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues under the guidance of senior technicians.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to inspect and troubleshoot problems.
- Assist with oil changes, brake checks, tire rotations, and other basic maintenance tasks.
- Disassemble and reassemble engine components and other mechanical systems.
- Keep work area clean and organized, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Communicate effectively with senior technicians and service managers about work progress and issues encountered.
- Complete all necessary documentation and record keeping for services and repairs.
- Follow all safety and environmental regulations during repairs and maintenance.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent (technical school education is a plus).
- Interest in learning and growing within the heavy-duty truck industry.
- Basic mechanical knowledge or hands-on experience with vehicles is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical demands of the job.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- A valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
Additional Skills (Preferred)
- Some experience with automotive or heavy equipment maintenance.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Basic computer skills.
