Responsibilities
- Shadow hands-on training senior staff/group leaders for a training period up to six months.
- Provide technical support and information to customers and field sales staff as needed, until completion of service request.
- Follow ECI QA procedures and work instructions as directed in ECI service shop and on site.
- Respond to scheduled and unscheduled repairs.
- Performs assembly and assists with troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs on related instrumentation.
- Responsible for assembling and disassembling of components and instrumentation as instructed.
- Performs calibration on mechanical and electronic instruments, machinery, and components.
- Able to work during outage season and adhere to vacation blackouts (typically October and April each year).
- Able to respond to occasional on-call requests outside the regular work hours.
- Notifies supervisor regarding parts or equipment in need of repair or replacement.
- Performs all duties according to safety procedures and safety best practices.
- Extensive travel required for this position—overnight stays are common; valid driver’s license is required.
- Able to take to Mechanical Aptitude Test and submit to random drug and alcohol testing through DISA program.
- Notifies supervisor of any safety concerns on or off-site.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Up to 2 years’ experience preferred in the field or in a related area.
- Ability and knowledge of how to use hand tools.
- Ability to understand instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform necessary functions of the job.
- Strong technical aptitude.
- Ability to multitask.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under immediate supervision as well as independently—constantly checking in with supervisor if he/she does not know the next step or the answer.
- Curiosity and desire to learn.
- Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record
