Entry Level T&G Operator

About the Role

Operate equipment with repetitive functions in the process of applying tongue and groove to sanded OSB product within a plant environment. This role involves maintaining equipment, performing quality checks, and ensuring safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Complete the operation of the T&G (Tongue and Groove) process.
• Perform required quality checks.
• Clean and maintain the Rea-Jet – APA marking system.
• Complete 20-panel checks (1 per shift per product).
• Check and maintain the metal detect system.
• Conduct fit tests throughout the production shift.
• Perform tape measure verification.
• Assist with maintenance on machinery.
• Assist T&G strapper and forklift as directed by supervisor.
• Clean the T&G work area.
• Perform other duties as necessary.
• Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• 6-12 months of experience in equipment operation preferred.
• Or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to perform key responsibilities.

Skills

• Knowledge of simple equipment operation.
• Knowledge of general equipment maintenance.
• Time management skills.
• Demonstrated mechanical ability.
• Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.

Work Environment
