About the Role
Operate equipment with repetitive functions in the process of applying tongue and groove to sanded OSB product within a plant environment. This role involves maintaining equipment, performing quality checks, and ensuring safety compliance.
Responsibilities
- Complete the operation of the T&G (Tongue and Groove) process.
- Perform required quality checks.
- Clean and maintain the Rea-Jet – APA marking system.
- Complete 20-panel checks (1 per shift per product).
- Check and maintain the metal detect system.
- Conduct fit tests throughout the production shift.
- Perform tape measure verification.
- Assist with maintenance on machinery.
- Assist T&G strapper and forklift as directed by supervisor.
- Clean the T&G work area.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
- Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- 6-12 months of experience in equipment operation preferred.
- Or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to perform key responsibilities.
Skills
- Knowledge of simple equipment operation.
- Knowledge of general equipment maintenance.
- Time management skills.
- Demonstrated mechanical ability.
- Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.
Work Environment
Plant environment with exposure to sawdust, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and other inclement conditions.
