About the role
Join KFSE’s experienced leadership in our new and expanding Portland office.
Responsibilities
- Aid in providing structural engineering calculations and drawings for various project types and materials.
- Collaborate with architects and other disciplines to deliver technical structural engineering documents.
- Work closely with local building jurisdictions to obtain building permits.
- Facilitate new projects to broaden the firm's Portland area portfolio.
- Learn and grow professionally under the guidance of management, potentially moving into a management role.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, Master’s degree preferred.
- EIT license preferred.
- Preferred computer program knowledge: RISA 3D, Microsoft Excel, SAFE, ETABS, Bluebeam, Ram Structural Systems, and Enercalc.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and decision-making abilities.
- Experience with BIM tools such as REVIT Structural.
Job Requirements
- Undertake detailed engineering design for gravity and lateral systems of concrete, steel, timber, and masonry structures.
- Communicate directly with clients and building officials.
- Assist in preparing design development and construction documents.
- Create and interpret data from 3D structural analysis models using commercial software.
- Inform senior staff of important design decisions and progress.
- Contribute to the firm's standards and technical knowledge.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for project support.
