Entry Level Structural Engineer –

About the role

Join KFSE’s experienced leadership in our new and expanding Portland office.

Responsibilities

• Aid in providing structural engineering calculations and drawings for various project types and materials.
• Collaborate with architects and other disciplines to deliver technical structural engineering documents.
• Work closely with local building jurisdictions to obtain building permits.
• Facilitate new projects to broaden the firm's Portland area portfolio.
• Learn and grow professionally under the guidance of management, potentially moving into a management role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, Master’s degree preferred.
• EIT license preferred.
• Preferred computer program knowledge: RISA 3D, Microsoft Excel, SAFE, ETABS, Bluebeam, Ram Structural Systems, and Enercalc.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and decision-making abilities.
• Experience with BIM tools such as REVIT Structural.

Job Requirements

• Undertake detailed engineering design for gravity and lateral systems of concrete, steel, timber, and masonry structures.
• Communicate directly with clients and building officials.
• Assist in preparing design development and construction documents.
• Create and interpret data from 3D structural analysis models using commercial software.
• Inform senior staff of important design decisions and progress.
• Contribute to the firm's standards and technical knowledge.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for project support.
