About the role

Whether you are looking to start your career as a Diesel Technician or are an experienced industry veteran, Boss Shop has a position for you. The Entry Level Shop Technician performs entry-level mechanical repairs in a timely and professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Completes assigned training programs, evaluations, and e-learning within designated timeframes.
  • Performs preventative maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, and filter replacement.
  • Greases trucks and trailers.
  • Performs tire repair, replacement, and related services.
  • Conducts CSA inspections and emergency road service calls.
  • Performs basic electrical diagnosis and repairs, including lighting, wiring, and 7-way replacements.
  • Performs minor trailer maintenance and body repairs.
  • Conducts basic air system repairs, including airline replacement, fittings, glad hands, and splices.
  • Performs battery testing and replacement.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of the shop and work areas.
  • Ensures all tools, equipment, and service vehicles are clean, functional, and properly maintained.
  • Properly stores parts, tires, and supplies.
  • Accurately completes work orders, including labor, parts, and customer information.
  • Ensures total customer satisfaction and upholds the integrity of the company.
  • Follows all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Completes OSHA Skills Demonstration and required safety training.
  • Maintains current LMS training requirements.
  • Provides friendly, professional, and competent customer service.
  • Reports to work as scheduled and on time.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • DOT Medical Card required.
  • Ability to obtain ASE, DOT, and other relevant certifications as required.
  • Successful completion of internal technician training programs.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured to drive company vehicles.
  • Reliable transportation and phone.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and as needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Demonstrated commitment to friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
  • Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with team members.
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in shop and roadside environments under varying conditions.
  • Physical attendance at the primary work location is required.
