About the role
This role is a Scientist I position based at Thermo Fisher Scientific’s GMP Laboratory in Middleton, WI. The role adheres to GMP safety standards and requires adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE).
Responsibilities
- Conduct complex analysis of pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical compounds in various formulations and biological matrices.
- Train on routine operation, maintenance, and theory of analytical instrumentation, as well as SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
- Review and compile results and compare them against SOP acceptance criteria, methodology, protocol, and product specifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification.
- Previous work experience that provides knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Knowledge of routine operation, maintenance, and theory of analytical instrumentation, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.
- Excellent manual dexterity skills, good written and oral communication skills, and proven problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to cross-train on sample preparation techniques with another laboratory group.
- Ability to work in a collaborative work environment with a team, manage time effectively, and handle multiple projects or activities.
Qualifications
- Able to communicate, receive, and understand information and ideas with diverse groups of people in a comprehensible and reasonable manner.
- Able to work upright and stationary or standing for typical working hours.
- Able to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds.
- Able to work in non-traditional work environments.
- Able to use and learn standard office equipment and technology with proficiency.
- May have exposure to potentially hazardous elements, including infectious agents, typically found in healthcare or laboratory environments.
- Able to perform successfully under pressure while prioritizing and handling multiple projects or activities.

- Manual dexterity and ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to cooperate with coworkers within an organized team environment or work alone with supervision.
- Ability to manage time effectively to complete assignments in expected time frame.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
The role is full-time and operates on a standard Monday through Friday schedule.
