Entry-Level Project Transportation Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Field operations, managing staff, subcontractors, and other on-site personnel.
  • Conducting site visits, scheduling, submittals, daily reports, and As-builts.
  • Lay outs, and control points.
  • Quality Control, inspections, and materials testing inspections.
  • Absolutely Ensuring on-site efficiency and safety.
  • Implement a safety program.
  • Estimating costs and preparing contracts.
  • Making meetings with clients and subcontractors.
  • Monitoring expenditure and drafting progress reports.
  • Mitigating risk, ensuring compliance, and evaluating environmental impact.
  • Procore items include, but are not limited to:
    • Responsibility to keep project information up to date and current for the duration of all projects in Procore.
    • Managing and inputting all RFI’s, RFP’s, and Bulletins from start to finish so all questions have been answered.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a level Project Engineer similar role for 3+ months.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with construction management software such as ProCore, Prolog, Bluebeam, or Primavera.
  • Familiarity with all Microsoft Office programs and bidding software a plus.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and safety protocols.
  • We are seeking an individual with 0+ years of experience in the Civil Construction industry.
  • Must have excellent leadership skills, be a strong communicator, and have a “take ownership” attitude.
  • You must be willing to travel up to 75% of your time throughout Colorado.
  • Experience with construction management software such as PROCORE, and Bluebeam a plus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management a plus.
  • At least 3 months of experience in a field-related role in transportation, concrete construction, or heavy civil construction.
  • Internship in heavy civil construction or road and highway.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills are backed by solid technical knowledge.
  • A versatile and service-oriented mindset.
  • Good understanding of safety guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Tech-savvy and computer literate.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work flexibly and willingness to work extensively to meet business needs.
  • Valid driver’s license with safe driving record (required).
  • A high level of attention to detail, initiative, problem-solving, personal organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Takes ownership of responsibilities.
  • Strong strategic thinking.
  • Ability to work with project team members, clients, and subcontractors to achieve team goals.
  • Ability to meet contract objectives on time and within budget.
  • Experience:
    • Construction: 3 months+ Preferred in Roadway, Highway or Heavy Civil
    • General Roadway, Highway, or Heavy Civil for 3 months plus
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
    • Equivalent work experience will be considered.

Pay

$70,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year

  • Employees working in this environment may be subject to evening, weekend, holiday, or on-call emergency shifts.
  • Work hours primarily involve 8-hour shifts during weekdays.
  • Approximately 90% performed in the field.
  • Must always maintain a professional appearance and attitude while on the job site.
