Entry Level - Planer
About the role
The primary function of this position is to keep the facility clean in order to eliminate safety and fire hazards. The individual will work in the Planer and perform tasks such as general facility clean up including picking up slabs, sticks, sawdust, chips off lower mill floors, and assist with dust mitigation.
Responsibilities
- General facility clean up including picking up slabs, sticks, sawdust, chips off lower mill floors
- Absorb and assist with dust mitigation
- Maintain a safe environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures
- Apply good housekeeping standards to your work area or any area you observe
Requirements
- Completion of high-school or equivalent preferred but not required
- Sawmill experience preferred but not required
- Must be able to safely work at a moderate to fast pace
- Lifting is 20-30 pounds on a continuous basis
