Entry-Level Lab Technician/Assistant

About the role

This is a long-term career opportunity for someone looking to grow in the industry long-term. The role involves handling samples and performing chemistry-based testing on metal samples that are preparing to be recycled.

Responsibilities

• Document each sample accurately and thoroughly
• Follow established written procedures
• Maintain, calibrate, and operate analytical instruments including XRF and ICP
• Prepare chemical solutions used in testing
• Perform testing using analytical balances, pipettes, and volumetric glassware
• Clean and maintain laboratory glassware
• Keep workspaces clean, safe, and organized
• Track and manage laboratory inventory
• Familiar with lab safety and good laboratory practices
• Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and best practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree highly preferred in a science-related field (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Material Science, Microbiology, etc.)
• Will potentially consider candidates with an Associate’s degree depending on laboratory coursework; pay will be lower in this case

Pay

The pay range for this position is $23.00 per hour. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
