About the role
Filtrex is a nationwide company searching for skilled technicians to perform thorough preventative maintenance on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) equipment across various facilities. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, responsible, and proficient with smartphone technology for digital communication and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Perform standard preventative maintenance tasks in accordance with manufacturer’s standards, including filter changes.
- Complete minor equipment adjustments such as belt replacement/adjustment, coil cleaning, evaporator and condensing coil cleaning, and ice machine cleaning.
- Maintain and treat condensate pans.
- Conduct visual and auditory inspections of equipment to assess proper function.
- Identify, evaluate, and make recommendations to prevent or minimize equipment failures and downtime.
- Complete preventative maintenance forms on a mobile app, including taking photos and documenting work.
- Enforce high standards of work performed and maintain security and accountability for equipment and facilities.
- Comply with all applicable health and safety regulations, policies, and established work practices.
Working conditions
- Travel for three weeks per month, working six days per week, with one full week off at home.
- Most holidays off while at home.
- Up to 20 hours of overtime required each week.
- Work in diverse conditions, including mechanical equipment rooms with noisy operating equipment, extreme weather, precarious locations, accumulated precipitation, ceiling plenums, unpleasant odors, wet or damp environments, and dimly lit equipment enclosures.
- Perform tasks requiring simple and power grasping, pushing, pulling, use of hands and fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and reaching.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs; occasionally lift or move up to 50–100 lbs.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of HVAC experience.
- Ice machine experience preferred.
- 3-year clean driving record.
- EPA license preferred.
- OSHA 10 license preferred.
- Technologically savvy, with the ability to use smartphone apps for documentation.
- Ability to function highly independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Must pass a background check.
