Jacobs is seeking an Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Milwaukee, WI, working on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients’ challenges locally and worldwide. In this position you will work with a multidisciplinary team taking on a variety of tasks that blend your theoretical knowledge with practical application.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical engineering design and analysis of foundation systems, retaining structures and slopes for transportation infrastructure projects for public and private clients.
• Develop skills in design and analysis of shallow and deep foundations including piles and drilled shafts, retaining walls, and support of excavation systems.
• Inspect geotechnical exploratory and construction-related activities.
• Develop and oversee subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programs.
• Take ownership of the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of assigned work, progressing from basic design work to more complicated projects in conjunction with a technical team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Qualifications

• Ideally, a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Previous internship experience in geotechnical evaluations, soil and rock classification, and design analysis of foundation and ground retention systems.

• Knowledge and experience with Ensoft, LPile, and Group GeoStudio Slope and Sigma, GRLWeap, Civiltech Shoring Suite, Bentley gINT, Bentley MicroStation, and Auto
