Entry-Level Geotechnical Driller

About the role

As a Geotechnical Driller, you will assist drilling staff, senior technicians, surveyors, and construction managers. The Assistant Driller plays a vital role in collecting information in the field and capturing subsurface materials to better serve our clients for accurate geotechnical analyses. This is an entry-level position requiring significant travel and year-round work in all types of terrain and weather conditions. On-the-job training is provided, with opportunities for advancement as geotechnical drilling skills are mastered.

Responsibilities

• Assists drilling staff to perform inspection assignments under direct supervision.
• Prepares daily reports and keeps accurate records of drilling activities according to pre-established guidelines.
• Assists in setting up and monitoring the safety of drilling operations.
• Works in all types of terrain and weather conditions.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Capable of lifting and carrying a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain railroad and safety certifications.
• Ability to pass Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and obtain a commercial driving license (CDL).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel frequently, both in-state and out-of-state.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
