Entry-Level Geotechnical Driller

About the role
As a Geotechnical Driller, you will assist drilling staff, senior technicians, surveyors, and construction managers. The Assistant Driller plays a vital role in collecting information in the field and capturing subsurface materials to better serve our clients for accurate geotechnical analyses. This is an entry-level position requiring significant travel and year-round work in all types of terrain and weather conditions. On-the-job training is provided, with opportunities for advancement as geotechnical drilling skills are mastered.
Responsibilities
- Assists drilling staff to perform inspection assignments under direct supervision.
- Prepares daily reports and keeps accurate records of drilling activities according to pre-established guidelines.
- Assists in setting up and monitoring the safety of drilling operations.
- Works in all types of terrain and weather conditions.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Capable of lifting and carrying a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain railroad and safety certifications.
- Ability to pass Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and obtain a commercial driving license (CDL).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel frequently, both in-state and out-of-state.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
