Entry-Level Field Technician

About the role

We are seeking an Entry-Level Field Technician to support our growing Colorado upstream oil and gas asset-retirement program and other environmental projects for government and private-sector clients. Based out of the Loveland area, you'll support a variety of field and office tasks associated with environmental sampling, remediation system inspections, data collection, and site monitoring activities. Approximately 85% of your time will be spent in the field, with the remaining time supporting project documentation and writing, logistics, and data management. This position is ideal for a hands-on professional who enjoys fieldwork, problem-solving, and working collaboratively to support environmental compliance and remediation projects.

Responsibilities

• Environmental sampling (groundwater, soil, soil vapor, or surface water)

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related field
• 0-2 years of environmental, engineering, geology, scientific, or related field experience
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate field documentation
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and lift and carry field equipment and sample coolers weighing up to approximately 40 pounds
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including hardhats, safety glasses, gloves, safety-toe boots, and respiratory protection when required
• Willingness to travel throughout Colorado, work early field schedules, and occasionally stay overnight near project sites
• Commitment to working safely and protecting subcontractors, coworkers, clients, and the public
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using GPS units, mobile data-collection applications, field meters, or similar equipment
• Experience completing field logs, inspection forms, or other detailed documentation
• First Aid/CPR certification
• Experience with environmental sampling or field data collection
• General equipment maintenance experience
• Strong attention to detail and technical documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $58,656.00 to $87,890.00; pay will be hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
