About the role
The Field Engineer (Entry-Level) position is available for the Kensico-Eastview Connection Tunnel Project in White Plains, New York. This project is part of the Kensico Reservoir and the Catskill/Delaware Ultraviolet (CDUV) Light Disinfection Facility, enhancing New York City’s water supply system.
Responsibilities
- Review project plans and develop a construction schedule in coordination with project-wide activities.
- Cook with subcontractors on advance material acquisitions and pre-construction deliverables.
- Develop and assist with obtaining quotes and draft contracts to meet project requirements.
- Prepare construction work plan packages and coordinate pre-construction meetings while ensuring that all prerequisites to start construction activities are identified and completed.
- Prepare, update, and distribute work activity schedules/updates, and communicate across discipline groups and agencies to ensure proper advance notifications and coordination of start times.
- Maintain accurate payment records.
- Participate in change orders and claims management.
- Identify and resolve changing site conditions or other impacts during planning of the work.
- Manage and submit project close-out in coordination with the client and third parties.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or similar, from an accredited institution.
- Heavy Civil construction experience preferred.
- Knowledge of construction safety and current federal & OSHA Requirements.
- Project controls techniques (i.e. cost accounting, basic estimating, forecasting, and contracts).
- A strong working knowledge of the critical path method and resource scheduling.
- Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and Primavera P6.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
- A strong work ethic - Highly motivated and willing to do what it takes to get the job done right.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
