Entry Level Diesel Technician
A Day in the Life
As a Diesel Technician, you'll be a key member of our Fleet Maintenance team, ensuring our Class 8 fleet is safe and reliable. Our fleet is primarily day cabs and trailers, all under manufacturer warranty—meaning no major engine overhauls or roadside calls. You'll perform a variety of tasks, with clear pathways for growth:
- Routine Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and component replacements on our fleet.
- Diagnostics: Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot complex electrical, engine, and transmission problems.
- System Repairs: Address issues with aftertreatment systems (DEF/emissions), perform regens, and change filters.
- Collaborate & Optimize: Work with your team to maintain accurate records, optimize vehicle performance, and minimize downtime.
- Safety First: Adhere to all safety protocols and industry best practices to ensure our fleet is always DOT compliant.
Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years of experience with Heavy-Duty Class 8 trucks and trailers or similar equipment (e.g., agricultural, construction, waste collection truck).
- Technical Skills: Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for diesel engines, transmissions, and vehicle systems. Proficiency with diagnostic software and using a laptop for manuals. Experience with aftertreatment systems and electrical diagnostics. Comfortable with MIG welding is a plus.
- Certifications & Training: A minimum of two ASE Certifications within the first 6 months of employment (we'll reimburse you!). T-series ASE Certifications are highly valued.
- Requirements: Valid Driver's License with clean driving record. Ability to perform physical tasks associated with vehicle maintenance (lifting, bending, etc.). Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship. Solid attendance record and punctuality are essential for this role.
