Entry Level CNC Machine Operator
About the Role
The Gund Company, a leader in engineered material solutions specializing in customized electrical insulation products, is seeking a CNC Machine Operator I to join our team. This full-time position is available on 2nd and 3rd shifts, with a wage range of $22.00-$26.00 per hour, plus a shift premium of 15% or 20%. The role is based in our Composites department.
Responsibilities
- Manufacture molded glass polyester sheets.
- Select and install machine components such as dies, spacers, shims, and stops according to specifications.
- Trim, file, and de-flash molded sheet edges, and perform in-process measuring and material inspections.
- Set up tooling, load programs, and set machine parameters to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Clean dies and molds using scrapers, brushes, scotch pads, or air hoses.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with prior hands-on, vocational, or job-related coursework/training, or any similar combination of education and experience.
- Preferred: Prior experience in a manufacturing industry with mixing, batching, or compounding equipment.
Work Environment
This role is performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and chemicals. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. The position involves repetitive tasks and manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
