About the role

This is an entry-level, 100% onsite position for a Site Representative (SR) responsible for testing, operating, and maintaining the paint detackification system used in the manufacturing of automotive components. The role involves performing chemical tests, documenting results, adjusting chemistry, and optimizing separation equipment. Candidates must be comfortable working in a messy and physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform chemical tests and document results daily.
  • Adjust chemistry to maintain and restore the process, including using chemical pumping systems and manually moving drums of chemistry.
  • Optimize separation equipment daily to assist in removing paint waste from the process, including adjusting valves and flows.
  • Repair chemical feed pumps and other application equipment as needed.
  • Document chemicals used for inventory and cost control.
  • Take inventory, check chemical levels, and change drums/totes as needed.
  • Run jars for each system and perform jar tests as required.
  • Adjust feed rates of pumps as needed.
  • Conduct washer checks for both shifts daily (5-stage titration) — specific to the Montgomery, AL location.
  • Wear required safety equipment, including steel-toed boots, eye and ear protection, and chemical handling PPE (e.g., face shields, apron, gloves).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Engineering.
  • 0–3 years of experience (entry-level; candidates with more than 3 years of experience will not be considered).
  • Good interpersonal skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with quality systems concepts and basic IT tools (e.g., MS Office).
  • Availability to work rotating shifts, weekends (when necessary), and limited travel.
  • Physical capability to stand for extensive periods and perform manual tasks, including lifting and moving drums.

Skills

  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Basic problem-solving and root cause analysis ability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Schedule

Day Shift: 3:00 AM – 12:00 PM (onsite in Montgomery, AL).
