Entry-Level Attorney

The United Firm A.P.C. is a premier law firm in the Fresno area offering significant growth opportunities for an admitted attorney in an entry-level criminal defense role.

About the role

As the Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney, you will report to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney, manage a caseload, interact with clients, and collaborate with our team of attorneys and legal assistants.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on their legal rights and draft legal documents related to their cases
• Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and advise on strategic next steps
• Manage court appearances, trials, motion drafting, witness interviews, and legal research
• Analyze probable case outcomes using knowledge of legal precedents
• Oversee case workload and provide legal analysis to determine potential benefits
• Gather additional evidence to support the client’s case or counter prosecution arguments
• Prepare clients for depositions and develop case strategy with input from witnesses and experts

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate degree
• Active bar admission (law graduates awaiting admission will also be considered)
• Demonstrated interest in criminal defense law through clinics, volunteer work, or internships
• High-caliber interpersonal skills and a record of advancing legal cases
• Ability to manage a caseload independently
• Experience with case management software preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
