Entry-Level (3L) Tax Associate
About the role
Fenwick is seeking a 3L who is interested in a career in tax law to join our tax group in our Silicon Valley or Seattle office (consideration will also be given to applications for New York office and Santa Monica office).
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and implementation of tax strategies for clients.
- Assist in the resolution of complex tax issues through research and analysis.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to advise on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions.
- Engage in litigation and dispute resolution related to tax matters.
- Collaborate on international tax planning and compliance initiatives.
- Provide guidance on transfer pricing and other tax controversies.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in law school as a 3L.
- Strong academic record, typically with honors or high distinction.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with tax law and accounting principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Passionate about tax law and its practical application.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited law school.
- Pass the bar exam in the jurisdiction where you intend to practice.
- Commitment to continuing legal education and professional development.

Pay
The anticipated range for this position is $225,000 - $225,000 depending on the role, the actual base salary offered may depend upon a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. A discretionary bonus for eligible employees may also be available based on performance.
