THE ROLE
As an entry-level Structural Bridge Engineer, you will be fully engaged in project work, making a difference in the communities you serve. The Bridge Engineer will be responsible for structural engineering analysis, design engineering, and project engineering for transportation-related structural projects within the public agency and private market.
- Serving in a lead or support technical role, depending on project complexity.
- Preparation of engineering calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and, at times, task or project management.
- Day-to-day structural engineering design decisions on bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects, including production and scheduling.
- Working in a team environment, both internally and externally.
- Active involvement in client interaction at the project level.
- Leverage engineering design software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Write and complete technical reports and project correspondences.
REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural.
- Current Engineer-In-Training (EIT) professional designation or willing to obtain soon after hire.
- 0-3+ years of relevant experience in bridge engineering design work.
- Understanding of engineering design software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Principal knowledge of load calculations, structural analysis, and design engineering.
- Strong communication, both written and verbal.
