Entertainment & Game Day Staff (Pond Patrol)

About the Role

The Entertainment & Game Day Staff (Pond Patrol) is a co-ed promotional team that brings high energy to create a home advantage for the Toledo Walleye. This role requires a positive attitude, comfort in front of crowds, and the ability to energize game time. Pond Patrol's main objective is to create an unforgettable experience for all fans. If you love hockey, hyping up crowds, and being in the middle of the action, this is the role for you.

This schedule is flexible, working nights, weekends, and some holidays. Auditions may be required as part of the hiring process.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pre-game and in-game ceremonies and promotions for games and events, including Toledo Walleye games, Toledo Mud Hens games, community fundraisers, concerts, pre- and post-game events, youth sports, high school and college baseball games, field/ice rentals, season ticket holder events, and charitable auctions.
• Provide high energy to engage with fans and create FANatical experiences.
• Perform in front of fans for dance routines, t-shirt tosses, prize giveaways, etc.
• Assist with load-in and load-out of event entertainment equipment, props, and giveaways.
• Prepare and utilize equipment, props, and other materials used during games/events.
• Ensure all pre-game, in-game, and post-game entertainment elements occur promptly at their designated times and are executed properly.
• Find and secure contestants as required; escort talent, guests, experiential participants, and/or staff as requested.
• Quickly adapt to changes in scripted elements.
• Ensure safety precautions are taken for all participants in promotions and activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• College students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Arts, Entertainment, Hospitality, or a related field are preferred.
• Dance or cheer experience is a plus.
• Ice skating experience is a plus.
• This role can be considered an internship for college credit.

• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, etc., for the duration of the shift.
• Game days may be outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
