Building reliable enterprise storage infrastructure is about creating environments that are scalable, resilient and built to support critical engineering workloads. This role is suited to someone with strong experience across enterprise SAN/NAS storage, Linux administration and automation, with hands-on expertise in technologies such as NetApp, Pure Storage or EMC Isilon. Experience working across cloud or hybrid environments and a practical approach to troubleshooting and performance optimization will be key to success. A proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills and a passion for continuous improvement are just as important as technical expertise. Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and tune enterprise SAN and NAS solutions across NetApp, Pure Storage, and EMC/Isilon platforms that support engineering workloads globally
• Build automation for storage provisioning, monitoring, and management using Python, Perl, Bash, and Ansible to cut down manual work and keep things consistent
• Troubleshoot complex storage and Linux system issues—performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, configuration drift across NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, FCP, and S3
• Design and implement storage solutions in public cloud environments, bringing together on-premises infrastructure with cloud-native storage services
• Lead storage architecture projects from evaluation through deployment, including capacity planning, vendor selection, migration execution, and mentoring junior engineers

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on experience architecting and managing enterprise SAN/NAS solutions in production environments
• Deep technical knowledge of NetApp, Pure Storage, and EMC/Isilon platforms—deployment, configuration, and performance optimization
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose complex system and storage issues at the OS and protocol level
• Real experience automating infrastructure tasks using Python, Perl, Bash, and Ansible in production environments, plus working knowledge of NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, FCP, and S3 protocols
• Experience with public cloud storage services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and integrating cloud storage into hybrid architectures
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience

• When storage performance tanks, three questions and the right logs are usually enough to identify whether it's a network issue, a misconfigured LUN, or an application problem
• Automation scripts written are readable and maintainable—other engineers can pick them up and modify them six months later without a translation guide
• Pushing back is part of the job when someone asks for a storage solution without explaining workload characteristics, capacity growth, or performance requirements
• Managing multiple architecture projects at once, each at a different stage, without losing track of dependencies or timelines comes naturally
• Technical tradeoffs are communicated clearly to both engineers and IT leadership, explaining why one storage platform makes sense for a given use case without getting lost in vendor marketing

This role joins the team responsible for managing Synopsys' global enterprise storage infrastructure across data centers worldwide. The team's mission is to keep engineering and R&D environments running efficiently by ensuring storage availability, maintaining enterprise storage platforms, and providing infrastructure support that internal engineering teams depend on every day. The work directly enables semiconductor design workflows that power the company's product development.
