About the role
We are seeking a Senior System Administrator to provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. This role manages IT system infrastructure and related processes, ensuring day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, and more. The position involves Tier I (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution, as well as support for dispatch systems and hardware issues.
Responsibilities
- Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems
- Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
- Assist users in accessing and using IT systems
- Provide Tier I (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution
- Support IT systems including day-to-day operation, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices
- Escalate and communicate status to agency management and internal customers
- Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning
- Provide in-depth experience in troubleshooting IT systems
- Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets
- Support the dispatch system and hardware problems, remaining involved in the resolution process
- Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems, install/load operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity, and configure network components
- Implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance
- Support the installation and maintenance of Cisco routers and switches for enterprise systems
- Support the design of systems, mission architecture, and associated hardware
- Possess a working knowledge of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications, and software integration
Requirements
A current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required
- Fifteen (15) years of experience as a System Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required; or five (5) years of additional System Administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
- This position requires a polygraph within the last 5 years

Pay
The expected salary range for this position, depending on education and years of experience, is $225,000 - $255,000.
