About the role

The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Leader will play a pivotal role in driving the transformation of the ERM function across GE Vernova. This executive-level position will work with the Chief Audit Executive in partnership with the CFO and other executive leadership to enhance the existing ERM framework, ensuring it aligns with the company’s strategic objectives and risk appetite. The Senior Director will lead ERM initiatives and collaborate with business units (Power, Wind, Electrification) and functions (strategy, supply chain, finance, legal & compliance, human resources, internal audit) to embed a robust risk-aware culture. The Leader will serve as the enterprise owner of ERM framework governance and methodology, a trusted advisor to executive leadership, and support Board-level committees on enterprise, strategic, operational, and emerging risks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the short-term transformation and ongoing enhancement of the enterprise-wide ERM framework, including policies, procedures, risk taxonomy, rating scales, and governance processes, aligned with leading industry standards (e.g., COSO ERM, ISO 31000) and best practices.
  • Integrate ERM with corporate strategy, ensuring risk considerations are central to business decisions and align with the company’s strategic framework.
  • Oversee quantitative and qualitative risk identification, assessment, prioritization, and aggregation processes, including development and use of data analytics, key risk indicators (KRIs), dashboards, and supporting tools to provide forward-looking, actionable insights.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies and controls, monitor risk mitigation efforts, and provide recommendations to strengthen enterprise risk responses and organizational resilience.
  • Facilitate effective communication of risk-related information across the organization through executive communications, governance forums, and targeted education to reinforce risk awareness and accountability.
  • Monitor emerging risks, industry trends, and regulatory developments within the energy and adjacent industries (e.g., utilities, industrial manufacturing), proactively advising leadership on implications and required actions.
  • Provide strategic oversight of ERM technology, data, and analytics capabilities, including AI, risk systems, reporting tools, and automation, in partnership with Digital Technology and functional stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing risk management team, fostering talent development, succession planning, and a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in Finance, Risk Management, or related field) preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), or Professional Risk Manager (PRM) preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise risk management, governance, audit, compliance, or related disciplines within complex, large-scale organizations.
  • Minimum 8 years in a leadership role, with demonstrated accountability for enterprise-wide programs and outcomes.
  • Expertise in designing, implementing, and operating an enterprise risk management program aligned with leading industry frameworks (COSO ERM, ISO 31000), with the ability to tailor these frameworks to the organization’s strategy, risk appetite, and operating model.
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide risk, governance, or operating-model transformations.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in leading, influencing, and aligning diverse, cross-functional teams across geographies and business lines.
  • Business acumen to translate complex risk information and data into clear, executive-level insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Experience operating in a global, matrixed organization, with an understanding of regional and international risk considerations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with advanced risk management software, analytics tools, and data visualization platforms.

Pay

For candidates applying to a U.S.-based position, the pay range is $224,000–$336,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility includes a discretionary annual bonus.
