Enterprise Project & Fab Leader

About the role

The Enterprise Project & Fab Leader at EMCOR Construction Services, Inc. (ECS) is responsible for overseeing and mentoring operating companies in areas such as prefabrication and fabrication, project execution, and cost tracking. This role requires a strong background in mechanical piping, plumbing, sheet metal/hvac, and extensive experience in project management and operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine oversight and mentoring of assigned operating companies.
• Audit execution rigor and field performance.
• Support operating companies in turnaround situations.
• Enhance productivity and predictability in the field.
• Strengthen prefabrication and fabrication integration.
• Mentor and guide local projects or fabrication shops.
• Evaluate and support operating company project teams and fabrication operations.
• Develop a project execution playbook.
• Improve coordination between fabrication shop and field teams.
• Evaluate shop productivity and workflow.
• Support project teams and fabrication operations with labor planning and crew sizing.
• Assess and assist operating company with developing/improving fabrication shop workflows.
• Ensure installation teams are prepared for prefab integration.
• Assess and support operating company with project and fabrication cost tracking and forecasting methods.
• Evaluate and support operating company project teams and fabrication operations with productivity measurement approaches.
• Support project teams and fabrication operations with field reporting and communication cadence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or related fields, or equivalent field experience.
• Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in Mechanical Piping, Plumbing, Sheet Metal/HVAC.
• Prior experience as a Project Executive, Operations Manager, Fabrication/Prefab Leader, or Senior Project Leader.
• Successful leadership of larger projects specializing in Mechanical Piping, Plumbing, Sheet Metal/HVAC work.
• Experience managing large, complex multi-trade projects.
• Demonstrated Prefabrication & Fabrication expertise.
• Exposure to high-reliability environments (schedule + quality critical).
• System & Technical Competency in evaluating and improving project controls systems, cost tracking and forecasting methods, productivity measurement approaches, labor planning, fabrication shop workflows, prefab integration into field operations, schedule management discipline, and change order management processes.
• Experience with project execution playbook development.
• Proven track record of leading projects while maintaining a commitment to Ethics and Safety.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications.
• Familiarity with construction/financial software packages.
