Enterprise Programmer Analyst

About the role

The Enterprise Programmer Analyst develops and maintains software systems to support university business requirements. This role involves consulting with stakeholders to define needs, writing specifications, coding, testing, and providing ongoing support and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Consult with systems programmers, supervisors, and end users to develop business requirements and write systems specifications.
• Define needs and provide solutions ensuring smooth integration into existing systems.
• Complete project scoping documents prior to programming.
• Write program specifications and convert designs into functional applications.
• Prepare and execute integrated test plans using efficient testing methods; involve users in testing.
• Prototype, refine, test, and debug programs; install and test programs at client sites; monitor performance post-implementation.
• Write and maintain documentation of program changes and specifications.
• Modify and maintain software programs written by others; develop and maintain project plans and timelines.
• Design and code layouts for user interfaces, reports, and system interfaces.
• Review user and technical documentation for consistency with program operations.
• Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries about errors, problems, or questions.
• Research and apply new technology with minimal production issues.
• Evaluate software and hardware to assist in programming or use as program platforms.
• Provide on-call support and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• One (1) year of related work experience.
• Ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio’s infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

Working Conditions

• Office and data processing environment with computers, servers, hardware, and standard office equipment.
• Occasional exposure to extreme cold and risk of electrical shock.
• Moderate noise level in the work environment.
• Occasional evening and weekend work; travel to meetings, training, or university campuses.
• Required to be on stand-by call status (pager, cell phone, or two-way radio) for after-hours emergencies.
• Flexibility in scheduling, including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Demands

• Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 10 pounds (with or without reasonable accommodations).
• Close visual acuity for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, computer work, and extensive reading.

Pay

Up to $63,000 annually, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule
