Enterprise GUI Software Developer
Open to Internal/External candidates. Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a GUI Software Developer supporting TOS II at Arnold Air Force Base in Arnold, TN. The Enterprise GUI Software Developer will work as a member of an integrated team responsible for design, implementation, and configuration management of system software associated with building models from measured data and data acquisition systems in an aerospace ground test environment.
About the Role
The successful candidate will apply programming, design, configuration management, and testing skills to develop complex systems and applications. Responsibilities include assisting in system/application deployment, installation, maintenance, and support.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain front-end interfaces for data acquisition, data processing, data mining, and data storage systems.
- Develop system requirements and design configurable, modifiable systems to interface with existing and future hardware and software.
- Conduct user research, interviews, and surveys to understand user behaviors, needs, and pain points.
- Conceptualize and develop a comprehensive UI/UX strategy aligned with customer requirements.
- Create and design UI elements such as menus, tabs, widgets, and other visual components to enhance intuitive system use.
- Perform software testing and verification.
- Support software configuration management practices to ensure system integrity.
- Apply system security to meet Federal Information Assurance requirements.
- Participate in and foster a work environment based on openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by supervisory direction and company policy.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, or a related scientific discipline from an accredited college or university. Degree requirements can be substituted with 5 years of relevant and progressive experience in software development.
- L07: Minimum of 2 years of experience using GUI, Java, Python, WebGL, GitLab, C, and/or C++.
- Current U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong aptitude for problem-solving and a passion for learning new technologies.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and concepts like sprints.
- Experience in Java, Python, WebGL, GitLab, C, or C++.
- Experience programming real-time applications.
- Experience or academic coursework in Graphical User Interface (GUI) development.
- Experience or academic coursework creating software design documentation, including UML diagrams (e.g., class, sequence, or use case diagrams).
- Relevant work experience or college coursework in software engineering, including design, coding, configuration control, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming concepts.
- CompTIA Security+ Certification or higher-level security certification.
- Knowledge of major industry or regulatory standards pertinent to Instrumentation, Data, and Controls (ID&C) software engineering.
- Active DoD Security Clearance.
Pay
L06: $82,000 - $102,000; L07: $90,000 - $124,000 per year at Arnold Air Force, TN.
