About the role
California’s Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) works to ensure that healthcare is available where Californians need it most. With offices in Sacramento and Los Angeles, HCAI strengthens the state’s healthcare system through facility construction, expanding the health workforce, and providing vital health information. Within HCAI’s Office of Technology Services, the Enterprise Data Governance program shapes conversations and generates impactful insights about California’s healthcare landscape from data submitted by hospitals, health plans, prescription drug manufacturers, and the health workforce. These insights inform policymakers, researchers, community leaders, and the broader healthcare industry on topics such as health care cost transparency, total cost of care, and health outcomes. Responsibilities
- Serve as subject-matter expert and support team member for the HCAI Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) program under direction of the Enterprise Risk Management Branch Chief (IT Manager I).
- Perform recurring, well-defined tasks and drive process improvements through innovative problem solving (within guidelines) across one or more business area units, processes, and functions.
- Work within the Business Technology Management domain.
- Collaborate with the EDG Program Coordinator (IT Specialist II) and other HCAI staff to continuously improve enterprise data governance capabilities, policies, processes, and practices.
- Provide functions and services to stakeholders for EDG program adherence, documentation, and program maturity.
- Assume primary responsibility for the EDG program’s data catalog, knowledge repository, and overall digital presence.
Pay
Salary range: $6,513.00 - $10,852.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification.
