Hybrid position with a major healthcare company located in Eagan, MN. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a pay range of $79.10 - $89.10 per hour (W2), based on qualifications.

About the role

This role will lead enterprise architecture strategy and help drive the architecture practice across the organization. The position will play a key part in shaping enterprise data architecture and modern data platforms, while defining how the architecture must evolve to support AI long-term. The Enterprise Architect will partner with executive, business, and technology leaders to develop enterprise technology roadmaps, establish standards, and guide modernization within a complex healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define enterprise architecture strategy, roadmaps, high-level enterprise conceptual architectures, standards, and governance
  • Help drive the enterprise architecture practice and competency, providing architectural leadership across the organization
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to align architecture with strategic initiatives and long-term business objectives
  • Provide strong leadership in enterprise data architecture, data governance, modern data platforms, and data integration
  • Shape how enterprise architecture evolves to enable and support AI capabilities over the long term
  • Lead and guide cloud modernization, application modernization, and technical debt reduction
  • Guide architecture across applications, cloud, data, integration, infrastructure, and security
  • Drive API strategy, microservices, event-driven architecture, and enterprise integration
  • Support modernization of the software development lifecycle, including modern CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and DevSecOps practices
  • Ensure solutions align with security, compliance (HIPAA), scalability, and enterprise standards
  • Mentor architects and engineering teams while influencing architectural direction across a large, matrixed organization

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 12+ years of IT experience
  • 5+ years in Enterprise or Solution Architecture leadership; a blend of enterprise and solution architecture experience is valuable
  • Experience developing enterprise technology roadmaps and high-level enterprise conceptual architectures
  • Experience driving architecture practices, standards, governance, and architectural competency
  • Strong experience in enterprise data architecture and modern data platforms
  • Experience leading digital transformation and cloud modernization
  • Experience within large enterprise environments
  • Agile/SAFe experience
  • Healthcare experience strongly preferred

Skills

  • Enterprise Architecture (TOGAF preferred)
  • Modern data platforms and technologies; Databricks experience preferred
  • AWS and cloud-native architecture
  • AI architecture and an understanding of how enterprise architecture must evolve to enable AI
  • Microservices, domain-driven design, and event-driven architecture
  • REST APIs and enterprise integration
  • Streaming and event technologies such as Kafka
  • Security architecture, IAM, HIPAA, and Zero Trust
  • Modern CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps, and software development lifecycle modernization
