About the role

The Enterprise Architect at Northpointe Bank plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our technology platform. Reporting directly to the CIO, this position involves balancing strategic architecture with hands-on technical leadership, working closely with engineering teams and executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the enterprise application architecture across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Establish technology standards, architectural patterns, and governance that promote secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
  • Partner with engineering, product, infrastructure, and information security teams to ensure new solutions align with business strategy and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead architectural reviews for major initiatives, providing guidance on solution design, integrations, vendor technologies, and build-versus-buy decisions.
  • Drive modernization efforts across the application portfolio while balancing technical innovation with operational stability.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies—including AI capabilities—and recommend practical solutions that create measurable business value.
  • Mentor software engineers and technical leaders, fostering architectural consistency and engineering excellence across development teams.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CIO, helping shape the Bank's long-term technology strategy and investment decisions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of enterprise, solution, or application architecture experience.
  • Deep expertise with Microsoft technologies, including Azure, C#, .NET, SQL Server, and modern API development.
  • Experience designing architecture across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, application integration, and cloud-native design patterns.
  • Experience in banking, mortgage, or another highly regulated industry.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both engineering teams and executive leadership.
  • Passion for mentoring technical teams and establishing architectural standards that scale.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as MCSD, MCSE, or equivalent.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks relevant to financial services.
