About the role
The Enterprise Architect at Northpointe Bank plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our technology platform. Reporting directly to the CIO, this position involves balancing strategic architecture with hands-on technical leadership, working closely with engineering teams and executive leadership.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the enterprise application architecture across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Establish technology standards, architectural patterns, and governance that promote secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
- Partner with engineering, product, infrastructure, and information security teams to ensure new solutions align with business strategy and regulatory requirements.
- Lead architectural reviews for major initiatives, providing guidance on solution design, integrations, vendor technologies, and build-versus-buy decisions.
- Drive modernization efforts across the application portfolio while balancing technical innovation with operational stability.
- Evaluate emerging technologies—including AI capabilities—and recommend practical solutions that create measurable business value.
- Mentor software engineers and technical leaders, fostering architectural consistency and engineering excellence across development teams.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CIO, helping shape the Bank's long-term technology strategy and investment decisions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of enterprise, solution, or application architecture experience.
- Deep expertise with Microsoft technologies, including Azure, C#, .NET, SQL Server, and modern API development.
- Experience designing architecture across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, application integration, and cloud-native design patterns.
- Experience in banking, mortgage, or another highly regulated industry.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both engineering teams and executive leadership.
- Passion for mentoring technical teams and establishing architectural standards that scale.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as MCSD, MCSE, or equivalent.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks relevant to financial services.
