Enterprise Architect
About the role
The Enterprise Architect (EA) sits within the Office of the CIO. The EA is a strategic partner and advisor to the business and technology teams providing proactive and holistic help in achieving their targeted outcomes including optimizing costs, mitigating risks and improving sustainability. This includes influencing the introduction of new and/or emerging technologies and architectures as well as expansion of existing platforms in support of business challenges, and target outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the enterprise architecture vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap aligned with banking business goals
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and risk frameworks (e.g., FFIEC, OCC, Basel, SOX, GDPR where applicable)
- Lead architecture governance, including standards, policies, and design reviews across all technology domains
- Partner with business leaders, risk, compliance, and IT teams to support digital transformation and modernization of legacy banking systems
- Drive architecture for core banking platforms, payments systems, lending, and digital banking channels
- Oversee data architecture strategy, including data governance, privacy, and lineage
- Evaluate and recommend technologies with a focus on security, resiliency, and operational risk reduction
- Support cloud adoption strategies while ensuring adherence to regulatory and security requirements
- Guide integration strategies across on-prem and cloud systems (APIs, microservices, middleware)
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce technical debt, and enhance customer experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in IT, with significant experience in financial services or banking
- Proven experience in enterprise architecture within a regulated environment
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF preferred)
- Deep understanding of core banking systems, payments, and financial products
- Experience with risk management, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) in regulated environments
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including working with executives, regulators, and auditors
Preferred
- TOGAF certification or equivalent
- Experience with digital banking transformation initiatives
- Familiarity with fintech integrations and open banking (APIs, PSD2 concepts)
- Knowledge of data platforms, analytics, and AI/ML in banking
- Experience with DevSecOps, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of vendor risk management and third-party integrations
Pay
The expected annual salary for this position is between $250,000 and $280,000 at the start of employment. A salary offer is determined on an individualized basis, taking into consideration factors such as an individual’s skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision plans, life and disability insurance, employee wellness program, retirement and savings plans with employer contributions, generous holiday and paid time off schedules, parental leave, and tuition reimbursement.
