Role Summary

This senior-level Enterprise Architect role involves leading technical delivery and engineering initiatives for federal government projects. The position requires managing complex customer engagements, guiding cross-functional technical teams, and ensuring the successful execution of large-scale architecture solutions. The Enterprise Architect acts as a strategic technical and business leader, facilitating communication between internal teams and customer stakeholders to meet organizational goals and deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical contact between the organization and the customer throughout project lifecycle, from initiation to completion.
  • Lead architecture activities including discovery, analysis, and development of comprehensive technical and business recommendations.
  • Develop and present in-depth technical solutions, white papers, strategies, and assessments aligned with customer needs.
  • Collaborate with project managers and teams to address and resolve technical risks and issues, ensuring on-time delivery and quality standards.
  • Review deployment documents, technical assessments, and project deliverables to maintain consistency and adherence to standards.
  • Manage projects as standalone businesses, ensuring profitability, compliance, and high service levels.
  • Foster long-term customer relationships through proactive engagement and customer-focused solutions.
  • Mentor and coach team members, staying current on industry trends and best practices.
  • Ensure all components comply with applicable regulatory, departmental, and organizational standards and policies.
  • Travel up to 75% as required, supporting on-site client engagements and project delivery within the federal sector.

Qualifications

  • This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Recognized enterprise architecture certifications such as TOGAF, Zachman, DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF), or Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA).
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent DoD IT delivery or consulting experience.
  • Proven experience managing complex IT infrastructure projects, including WAN/LAN, data centers, WLAN, collaboration, and compute environments.
  • Strong background in enterprise architecture principles, methodologies, and practices.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CCIE or equivalent in technology areas like networking or security.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of delivering technical presentations and business-friendly proposals.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50-75%, primarily supporting federal projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including team mentorship, strategic thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with DoD Data Center architectures and delivery models.
