Position Summary

Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Enrollment Counselor. This position plays a vital role in providing a positive first impression of FAU as families enter the lobby of the Office of Admissions and support in-person customer service and recruitment efforts.

Summary of responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and support the recruitment, onboarding, and enrollment of new students.
  • Counsel and advise prospective students, applicants, and family members about admissions requirements, application status, and other opportunities at Florida Atlantic University.
  • Partner and collaborate with staff and faculty in Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and Enrollment Management & Student Success for recruitment, onboarding, and enrollment of new students.
  • Communicate with students in one-on-one and small group sessions.
  • Support all on-campus recruitment events, including Open Houses and other divisional events.
  • Regularly communicate with potential students and leverage a variety of different communication sources and strategies.
  • Manage multiple simultaneous priorities while continuing to provide great service and accurate information.
  • Provide guidance to first-generation, prospective, and current students on policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization required.
  • Must have excellent verbal and communication skills.
