Statement Of Primary Purpose The Enrollment Assistant for Enrollment Services is the first point of contact for providing prompt service to students and is primarily responsible for data entry of admissions applications, answering and responding to telephone calls and emails, assisting walk-ins with enrollment-related questions, and communicating with applicants and prospects. Classification Full-time, non-exempt, Office Support Essential Functions And Responsibilities This position is responsible for performing the following duties and functions: Execute daily uploads and processing of online admissions applications into Colleague, resolve upload errors reports, and accurately assign advisors. Scan and index documents into our document management software platform. Receive and respond to calls and emails to SCC’s Admissions office with professionalism and in a timely manner. Receive and assist (triage) walk-ins into Student/Enrollment Services with answers to their questions concerning enrollment, and/or directing them to the proper office for specific assistance. Process and maintain the advisor assignments for all students including closing assignments and reassignments. Manage and process official records updates such as program changes, name and address changes, and other admissions documents. Log and track prospective student inquiries, interactions, and follow-ups within the institutional CRM/database to support enrollment outreach Maintain strict confidentiality of student records in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and institutional policies Provide telephone coverage for other student service offices when needed. Other duties assigned by the Dean of Students or Director of Enrollment Management. Additional Duties And Responsibilities Order miscellaneous supplies for Student/Enrollment Services. Cross-train with the Registrar’s Office, Career and College Promise, and Financial Aid. Minimum Qualifications Education Required: High School or equivalent with 5 years Office Admin experience Preferred: Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years Office Admin Required Knowledge and Skills Strong computer skills with a focus on Microsoft and Google Excellent customer service skills and telephone presence with the ability to work well with the public in high pressure situations. Strong attention to detail with proven accuracy in high-volume data entry and records management. Preferred Proficiency in word processing and use of spreadsheets desired General knowledge of office practices Passion to assist individuals with their educational journey at SCC Physical Demands Occasional lifting of office supplies and paper products and a high degree of mobility essential for getting around campus Licensing Requirement Valid NC driver’s license Working Conditions and Environment Travel may be required to do software training; evening work required during registration periods Equipment Operation PC; calculator; telephone, copier, document scanner This position description covers the most essential functions and duties associated with this position.
