Duties
- Develop relevant lessons
- Ensure academic and social development of scholars
- Identify the needs and create original instructional plans
- Monitor scholars' progress and make adjustments
- Create a safe and productive learning environment
- Mentor and provide guidance to Assistant Teachers and volunteers
- Supervise scholars in in-person day-to-day activities and special functions like field trips
Qualifications
- At least three years of related experience
- A teaching certification is preferred but not required
- A high school graduate, 18 years of age, with at least six months experience working with youth
- Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and technological skills
- Strong relationship building, mentoring, communication, and leadership skills
- Commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and service to diverse populations
This can be in the form of your high school diploma/equivalent, unofficial college transcripts, college/university diploma, teaching certification.
