ENL Teacher

About the role
The English as a New Language (ENL) Teacher at Penfield High School will be responsible for teaching English language learners and providing support services to ensure their academic success. This is a probationary position.
Responsibilities
- Teach English language learners in accordance with district curriculum and state standards.
- Provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to develop and implement effective educational strategies.
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- NYS certification in English as a New Language or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with English language learners preferred but not required.
Qualifications
- Effective classroom management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Pass a background check.
Skills
- Knowledge of Second Language Acquisition theories and methodologies.
- Proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
