Production role for individuals with at least 2 years of relevant experience performing landscape enhancements. The Crew Leader primarily works in the field managing crew members and work quality.
Responsibilities
- Manage a crew of 1 – 3 workers
- Communicate with manager, crew members, and clients
- Operate electronic devices to track time and job data
- Operate landscape/construction equipment
- Perform work with special attention to quality standards, adhering to safety program, and delivering services as outlined by the supervisor
- Develop competency in operating equipment and tools needed to perform daily tasks
- Perform the work requested by the supervisor in the timeframe requested and to the level of professionalism demanded
- Complete daily tasks with minimal supervision
- Perform light maintenance on equipment needed to perform daily tasks
- Maintain a professional relationship with business partners (vendors, clients)
- Use decision-making skills
- Work with general, in-field technology
- Work outside regular business hours as needs dictate
- Work in all adverse weather conditions
- Operate snow and ice removal equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 2 years prior experience in landscape, construction, or similar fields
- Valid driver’s license and ability to be added onto company’s insurance policy
- Class A CDL preferred or ability to acquire one within 45 days of hire
- Achieve any department-required certification within 45 days of placement
- Effective communication skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Demonstrate mastery of training programs previously participated in
- Critical thinking skills
- Willingness to learn plant material and industry best practices
- Basic math skills
- Ability to work in a safety-aware environment
- Ability to work in all types of weather conditions
Physical Demands
- Lift and carry weights ranging from 25 to 50 pounds frequently
- Occasional lifting and carrying weights ranging from 51 to 100 pounds
- Occasional bending, kneeling, crouching, and stooping
- Frequent standing
- Occasional operation of equipment
- Occasional sitting, climbing, and reaching above shoulder height
- Frequent repetitive hand movements/grasping
- Good vision, corrected to normal
- Good hearing, corrected to normal, or ability to communicate/understand required information
- Ability to be mobile throughout required work areas
Work Environment
- Work outside in all types of weather conditions, including occasional extreme heat exposure
- Noise level varies and may sporadically be loud
