What is the Lincoln Award?
The Lincoln Award is an employability framework designed to support students in preparing for their future careers. It helps students develop and learn how to demonstrate their employability skills, participate in relevant activities, and reflect on their experiences to apply their skills to any part of a recruitment process.
Upon completion, students feel confident in their career direction, skills, and understanding of the recruitment process. The award is structured into three phases: Explore, Develop, and Apply, to help students focus on different aspects of essential preparation during their university experience.
How do I start the Lincoln Award?
To get started, please watch the Lincoln Award Induction Video and confirm you have done so when signing up via the button below. Sign up to the Lincoln Award to begin your Lincoln Award pathway and receive all necessary information.
If you are already signed up but need a refresher, you can rewatch the Lincoln Award Induction video, email the Lincoln Award inbox, or visit the Careers Centre to ask questions or discuss your activities.
Why should I do the Lincoln Award?
Employers are looking for candidates who stand out and have developed their skills and ambitions. A degree alone is not enough to guarantee a dream job. Completing the Lincoln Award supports skill development and builds confidence to communicate university experiences and successes to future employers.
When can I complete the Lincoln Award?
The Lincoln Award is open to all students currently studying at the University of Lincoln. You can start the award at any point during your degree, but it's advisable to complete it within a year of starting the award to plan for future development after university.
