About the role

Join Verizon as we continue to expand our industry-leading network to improve the ways people, businesses, and things connect. As a Network Operations Engineer, you will provide technical expertise on a critical role involving network transformation, network outages, service issues, network optimization, and maintenance. You will be responsible for providing support to keep things running smoothly and change the way that our customers live, work, and play.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise on a critical role involving network transformation, network outages, service issues, network optimization, and maintenance.
  • Support the rotational needs of a technical environment.
  • Perform troubleshooting, configuration changes, drive issues to resolution, and related functions.
  • Evaluate network coverage to find gaps, make recommendations to improve coverage, and help implement those recommendations.
  • Perform triage, fault isolation, and remediation of network events.
  • Generate, drive, and update problem-tracking tickets via multiple systems and continuously improve business practices.
  • Escalate issues to the appropriate internal/external engineer teams for resolution.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • A technical degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications equipment and technologies like Telephony Switching, Data Communications and Network Routers.
  • Computer support experience, including troubleshooting PC hardware and configurations.
  • Vendor management experience.

Skills

  • Experience navigating and working well at all levels in a fast-paced, ever-changing network environment.
  • Enjoying the challenge of solving problems and encountering new situations.

Pay

The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $82,000.00 - $134,000.00.
