What You’ll Need Bachelor’s degree in special education, education, Literature, or a related fieldValid Connecticut state endorsement (165): Special Education: Comprehensive (Grades K-12), or (015): English (7-12), or eligibility for certificationMinimum of two (2) years of experience teaching special education student populations with language-based learning differencesFamiliar with the IEP process and collection of progress monitoring dataCreate and maintain an orderly and aesthetic learning environment that accounts for students social, emotional, and executive functioning needCommitment to help children of all abilities reach their full potentialExcellent written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, enthusiastic style to fit with our small-team environment What You’ll Do Deliver high-quality, data-driven mathematics instruction aligned with the school's mission and philosophyDifferentiate instruction to accommodate students' learning styles, abilities, and current achievement levelsDevelop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including Present Levels of Performance, measurable goals, and objectivesParticipate as an active member of the Planning & Placement Team (PPT)Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, teaching methods, and learning principles to help students achieve academic and IEP goalsCollect, analyze, and maintain progress monitoring data to inform instructional decisions Why You’ll Love Working Here Enjoy both paid time off and extra paid school breaks (for select roles), plus paid holidays.
