The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects thousands of students nationwide with online tutors. As a Texas Certified Teacher on our platform, you’ll leverage your classroom expertise in a flexible, remote tutoring environment—setting your own schedule, earning competitive rates, and making a real impact on students’ lives from the comfort of your home.

Requirements

• Active Texas Teaching Certificate (Required): Must hold a current, active teaching certificate issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). You will be asked to provide your certificate number during the application process for verification.
• Subject Matter Expertise: Deep knowledge in your certified subject area(s), with the ability to connect K-12 curriculum concepts to student needs across grade levels and learning goals.
• Classroom Teaching Experience: Demonstrated experience in a Texas classroom setting, with a strong understanding of TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) standards and how to apply them in one-on-one instruction.
• Conceptual Teaching & Adaptive Instruction: Skilled at diagnosing student gaps, adjusting pacing and approach, and explaining concepts through multiple methods to meet each student where they are.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
