As a Texas Certified Teacher on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you'll bring your classroom expertise to a flexible, remote tutoring environment—setting your own schedule, earning competitive rates, and making a real impact on students' lives. Responsibilities

• Provide personalized 1‑on‑1 online tutoring to individual students.
• Accept on‑demand instant tutoring requests when available.

Requirements

• Active Texas Teaching Certificate (required) – must hold a current certificate issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
• Subject matter expertise in your certified area(s), with the ability to connect K‑12 curriculum concepts to student needs across grade levels and learning goals.
• Demonstrated classroom teaching experience in a Texas setting, with a strong understanding of TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) standards and how to apply them in one‑on‑one instruction.
• Skilled at diagnosing student gaps, adjusting pacing and approach, and explaining concepts through multiple methods to meet each student where they are.
• Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to individual learning needs and styles.
