English Subject Teacher – Online (Lyceum)

About the role

Lyceum is looking for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our academic team for online teaching. The ideal candidate will teach English as a core subject covering literature, comprehension, grammar, and writing skills and inspire students to think critically and express themselves effectively, all through a virtual classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons online as per the school curriculum
• Teach literature (prose, poetry, novels), grammar, comprehension, and composition
• Assess and evaluate student progress through online assignments, tests, and projects
• Develop lesson plans aligned with the syllabus and adapted for online delivery
• Encourage critical thinking, analysis, and creative expression among students
• Maintain student engagement and a positive learning environment in the online classroom
• Participate in virtual parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, and school events
• Prepare students for internal and external examinations (as per curriculum requirements)
• Utilize digital tools, learning management systems, and online resources effectively

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in English Literature, English, or related field
• B.Ed or teaching certification preferred
• Minimum 1–2 years of teaching experience (fresh graduates with strong subject knowledge may also apply)
• Strong command of English grammar, literature, and writing
• Ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt teaching style to different learners
• Reliable internet connection, laptop/computer, and a quiet, professional teaching space
• Comfortable using video conferencing tools (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.) and LMS platforms
• Ability to design creative and interactive lesson plans suited for virtual learning
