About the Role

VSO is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes volunteering as a powerful way to tackle poverty and inequality.

Responsibilities

  • Coaching local English language educators and partner institutions
  • Teaching secondary school students
  • Delivering engaging curriculum lessons
  • Leading professional development sessions
  • Running practical coaching workshops
  • Supporting teachers and students in improving their English language proficiency
  • Adopting student-centred methodologies
  • Applying international best practices in the classroom

Qualifications

  • You hold an education degree and have practical experience in English teaching in a school setting
  • You enjoy mentoring and supporting other teachers and have strong communication and facilitation skills
  • You thrive in cross-cultural environments, you're flexible, patient and respectful towards diverse settings
  • You are driven by the values of volunteerism, inclusion and community-led development
  • You believe that volunteering and sharing your skills create meaningful, lasting impact
  • You're open-minded, adaptable, and curious
  • You're eager to learn from others while sharing your expertise to strengthen education systems in Uzbekistan

Preferred

  • Preferably, you have a TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or DELTA certification
  • We also welcome candidates without the mentioned certification but can prove equivalent relevant experience
