About the role

Teach one-to-one General English classes to a student at their office/home or in a public place near Tempe, AZ.

Responsibilities

• Provide 52 hours of instruction over approximately four weeks, with two-hour sessions 5-6 days per week.
• Teach according to the student's motivation and goals, focusing on speaking and writing with additional practice in listening and reading.
• Offer detailed corrections and homework, especially for speaking and writing tasks similar to the Duolingo English Test.
• Be available from Monday to Saturday between 2 pm and 7 pm, with flexibility to match the trainer’s schedule.

Requirements

• Native Chinese/English speaker or hold a teaching degree.
• Experience as a language teacher, translator, or interpreter.
• A valid working visa.
• Liv[e] up to 20 miles from the client's location.

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certification or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills in both Chinese and English.
• Knowledge of the Duolingo English Test and its requirements.

Skills

• Fluency in both Chinese and English.
• Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule.
• Experience with Duolingo English Test preparation.
