The San Juan Unified School District is seeking a full-time ELD Teacher at Mission Ave Elementary.

About the role

This position is located at Mission Ave Elementary and is open for one position. It is a permanent employment type position.

Responsibilities

  • Teach English Language Development (ELD) to students in grades K-12.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum standards.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to parents/guardians.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, special education teachers, and administrators to support student learning.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills.

Requirements

  • Valid California Teaching Credential (CTC) with an endorsement in English Language Development (ELD).
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education or related field.
  • At least two years of teaching experience in a similar setting.
  • Knowledge of current best practices in ELD instruction.

Skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

Benefits

  • Annual stipends for hard-to-staff positions (up to $14,000).
  • Advanced degree stipend ($3,000).
  • Stipends for extra-curricular activities ($1,000 - $4,500).
  • Stipends for leadership roles ($1,500 - $6,000).

Pay

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $126,000 annually. External candidates can be placed on Column 4, Step 11, which is the maximum incoming placement.

Schedule

The length of the work year is 10 months/year, 186 days/year, 5 days/week, with a professional work day.
