About The Position

This is a 1.0 FTE continuing contract position for an English (.7 FTE) and LAP (.3 FTE) Teacher at Scriber Lake High School starting with the 2026-27 school year. SIOP and GLAD training, offered by the Multilingual Education Department, is required for all new employees within the first two years of employment. Candidates with a Reading, ELL, or Bilingual endorsement and/or experience applying structured literacy principles are preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • A Washington State Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in English Language Arts, or the ability to obtain one prior to the position start date.
  • Prior experience with SIOP and GLAD training.

Pay and Benefits

Salary range for 2025-26: $83,305 through $148,226 (2026-27 salary schedule not yet finalized). Benefits include Washington state health insurance coverage (SEBB), a retirement package, medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, life, and AD+D insurance, and options for HSA, FSA, and DCAP. Most employees have access to additional benefits such as paid sick leave, personal leave, an employee assistance program, deferred compensation plans, and 403(b) plans. Eligibility for health insurance and retirement benefits depends on the number of hours worked per year.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this job include navigating various school and classroom environments, assisting students who need physical support or exhibit challenging behaviors, and communicating with others regularly. Tasks may involve frequent manual work using hands or fingers, occasional reaching, bending, or twisting, moving objects weighing up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 25 pounds. Visual requirements include performing close-range tasks and adjusting focus as necessary.
